Contact Us

SEN Legal is based in Bury St Edmunds, which is our administrative hub. We are one of the largest, possibly even the largest specialist practices in this field. We are genuinely a nation-wide practice and we are willing to take instructions from clients based anywhere in England and Wales. Our clients have lived as far apart as Devon and Cornwall, Kent and the Scottish borders although the majority of our clients are in London and the south. Our business hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday - Friday. We can be contacted out of hours by mobile.

We also have use of conference facilities in a Hardwicke Building which is based in Lincoln's Inn just off Chancery Lane in London. For the convenience of our clients, we are able to arrange conferences here.

SEN Legal's success rate in the period 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012 was 94.6% (this figure includes appeals conceded by the Local Authority before the hearing).

Statutory Regulations apply to all solicitors in relation to combating Money Laundering. Whilst we do not see how it is possible to money launder through Special Educational Needs we are bound by these Statutory Regulations and must comply with them.

In order to comply with this regulation we need to obtain evidence of the identity and residency of every client named on our instructions as soon as possible and you will be required to provide us with either original documents or certified copies at the time of instruction in order for us to make copies which will be retained at our office for the duration of your case.

Money laundering is a process by which the proceeds of any type of crime and the true ownership of those proceeds appear to come from a legitimate source. For the purpose of Anti Money Laundering Regulations tax evasion can be considered a crime. Our compliance with the rules are a legal obligation and failure to comply can result in a Practice being struck off by the Law Society who monitor our compliance.

Termination of your Retainer

You have the right to terminate the retainer at any time on written notice to us. You will remain liable to pay all of our fees, expenses and disbursements and VAT which have been incurred up to the date the termination instruction is received.

We reserve the right to terminate the retainer on written to notice to you in the following circumstances:

  • We do not receive payment for any invoice within the time specified by us for payment.
  • You fail to give us timely and adequate instruction so that we are unable to conduct your case properly and expeditiously.
  • You insist on a course of action which requires us to act contrary to our responsibilities as solicitors or which would lead to a breakdown of the relationship of trust and confidence or a conflict if interest arises which is essential for the proper handling of legal matters.
  • There is a breakdown of confidence between yourself and this Practice.
