Hayley Mason-Seager
Senior Solicitor and CEO

I am Senior Solicitor and CEO at SEN Legal; principally based at our offices in Cambridge although I represent clients nationally. I have successfully acted for parents across a number of Local Authority areas - from obtaining an EHC Needs Assessment right through to extremely complex post-19 Appeals. I have a vast range of expertise in SEND Tribunal work and I carry out all of the legal work involved with representing parents of children/young persons in the SEND Tribunal. I have excellent interpersonal skills to guide parents throughout the Appeal process and am skilled in explaining the complexities of what is an undeniably complex field.
I have been ranked as a 'Leading Individual' in the Legal 500 for the last number of years, an accolade I am extremely proud of. The Legal 500 reports that "Hayley Mason-Seager is a force to be reckoned with. She works extremely hard to achieve good outcomes for her clients, consistently going above and beyond. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field, a passionate advocate for parents and a skilled negotiator. Parents are lucky to have her fighting their corner."
I am also the lead Solicitor for clients seeking to obtain Deputyship Orders in the Court of Protection. I have written a chapter on this topic, in the book ‘Special Educational Needs and Legal Entitlement, getting out of the maze 2nd edition’. I also have experience in S21A challenges in the Court of Protection.
When I am not in the office, you will often find me at any of our big marketing events. I deliver presentations up and down the country on a variety of topics to advocate parental rights. I regularly contribute to our quarterly newsletter and as part of my pro-bono work I am the Legal Columnist for the parent group ‘Special Needs Jungle’ where I provide free legal advice for those who may not otherwise be able to access it.
I was originally drawn to this area of law due to my exposure of children with special educational needs not getting the right support through my mother’s career as a teacher. I joined SEN Legal in April 2014 as a Trainee Solicitor and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in May 2016. I was promoted to Senior Solicitor in 2018.
Outside of my legal work, I love spending time with my beautiful little girl and making memories with my family and friends. I also like to travel, read, and I enjoy playing netball as part of my local team.
